Little Owls

These have featured in a blip from Wilsden Walker already this week.  I went on one of the guided bird walks around St Ives this morning and we were lucky to see these two sitting on the top of the wall.  Not a brilliant shot but we were at quite a distance.
The birds encountered on the walk (mainly by their song) were Mute Swan, Canada Goose, Mallard, Tufted Duck, Goosander, Coot, Moorhen, Grey Heron, Lapwing, Herring Gull, Pheasant, Little Owl, Green Woodpecker, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Woodpigeon, Stock Pigeon, Skylark, Pied Wagtail, Blackbird, Mistle Thrush, Song Thrush, Redwing, Robin, Wren, Hedge Accentor (Dunnock), Blackcap, Willow Warbler, Chiffchaff, Goldcrest, Treecreeper, Nuthatch, Great Tit, Blue Tit, Coal Tit, Long-tailed Tit, Jay, Magpie, Jackdaw, Carrion Crow, Chaffinch, Goldfinch, Greenfinch, Bullfinch, Siskin, Redpoll.
A pretty good tally - just wish I could remember all the various sounds.
