Red

In Ireland the robin was associated with Christ on the cross: the bird plucked the thorns from his head and the blood for ever stained his feathers red. It was also said that he scorched his breast in the stable at Bethlehem while fanning a fire to warm the baby Jesus.
Seeing the blood on a statue in a church in Sri Lanka, I thought this post, the red of the robin, his link to pain and loss, would be a fitting reflection on Easter.
I recall the cost of the cross and the pain of those who died worshipping.
