Last Day of the Holidays

For some young people it was the last day of the Easter holidays. So a chance for these lads to scoot around and have some fun.

Jack and I had an early start as he had to be at the hospital at 8.00pm to have the cataract removed from his left eye. He had his right eye done last September so we know what to expect. We were home with the op done speedily by 11.30am. I now take over the role of eye drop dispenser for the next 4 weeks. So a quick trip to St Neots gave me a break from these heavy responsibilities

While Jack was being treated I had a long chat with a delightful 88 year old man who was having his first eye op. He was born and bred in the Cambridgeshire Fens...a Fen Tiger as the locals are called. He told me some wonderful tales of his tough life in farming and the many changes he had seen...eg moving from horse drawn ploughs to tractor drawn.

Reduced our garden watering regime a bit as it so much cooler. Just hope there is some rain here in the coming days.
