We walked from Santiago del Teide up to the col and ate our lunch, the path was very steep but the weather and views were perfect.  Three retraced their steps down to the village, with the aim of having coffee and cake while waiting for the other two of us to complete a longer, circular walk. 

It was a lovely walk, although the instructions in the walking book were incorrect, resulting in us coming down 3 miles from where we should've been. Luckily a quick phone call enabled us to be picked up in the next village... thank goodness!
