Keeping Dry

Despite the stormy clouds that came over as we drove to the top of the fell the day actually turned out pretty nice. We had a short walk to Devoke Water at the top of Birker Fell in a rather chilly wind so no temptation to swim there.

The kids were happy playing inside and out for the rest of the day so much of it was a relay of A and I on bikes, with  short stroll together exploring the Japanese gardens at Giggle Alley.

I had a couple of hours out on the bike before we headed up to the pub for lunch. A went for a spin late afternoon and by the time he got back the sun was out and there was enough warmth in the air to tempt me up the valley to Gill Force for a swim. We'll all be sad to be leaving this tranquil valley tomorrow.
