While on my runs

For Chch; by Paul Walsh

Riding home after work today, I noticed a new painting on the Memorial Wall. For a few years, Paul Walsh (one of Auckland's most prolific street artist) has been painting a portrait of singers who have recently died. The last one was of Aretha Franklin, which I blipped on 10 September 2018.

On 18 March 2019 Walsh painted a tribute to Naeem Rashid on a wall in Avondale. Rashid tried to tackle the gunman, and was murdered.

Today was the first time I have seen this mural, and I can find no mention of it in newspapers or on Walsh's website, which could be taken as evidence that it is very new. I have not noticed before. The eye is worth looking closely
