Red Campion EB (Silene dioica)

Delighted to find these pink-red flowers in my wild flower bed, providing nectar for hoverflies, bees and butterflies. Red campion is dioecious, meaning the male and female flowers grow on separate plants, hence the species name dioica. The crushed seeds were once used to treat snake bites.
