St Ninian's Bay

Dull with some rain.
West coast drive again, this time making our way down the track to St Ninian's Bay. We waked the half mile round the bay (very nice sands) then on the narrow path to see the standing stones and the ruins of St Ninian's Chapel. Previous visitors had formed a cross with white stones and had left Scolllop shells (Pilgrimage symbol).

We went round to Ettrick Bay and had lunch in the cafe.

Went back round to the Ardscalpsie car park to sit for a while and enjoy the view.

Later there were Gannets diving in Kilchattan Bay. We could sit at the window and watch them.
