My take

Nostalgia

My 22-year-old iMac, next to its who-knows-how-many-times descendant. It has been in storage for a long time, but I got it out today, cleaned it up and it fired up perfectly. Runs Word, Quark XPress, Illustrator and loads of other programs from a 6GB disk and 160MB memory. Interesting to see how bloated software has become; the copy of MS Word on this iMac is 795 KB. The latest on my main Mac takes up 2.3GB; nearly 3000 times the size!

The pink-ish band on the screen is just scan lines; the screen is still perfect.
