Penguin Droppings

A butterfly day.

15 years ago, comma butterflies arrived in Fife after not being seen for over 100 years. They are now becoming quite a common sighting.

Now, another southern species has also arrived in Fife - The Speckled Wood (see 'extras'). After living here for over 50 years, today was the first time I have seen a speckled wood butterfly in Scotland. I found it (one of two) near Kinghorn Loch, Fife.

My main blip is a female orange-tip with wings closed. Opened version in 'extras'.

The other 'extra' is a green-veined white. Also present were peacocks.
