Aberrations

If you are  interested in butterfly aberrations (its a vice I admit to) then the open wing shot is the only way to check for them. The Orange Tip is especially likely to produce aberrations, there are more than fifty named versions. A bit like yesterday's Holly Blue the Orange Tip is another species that I've always found difficult to get a decent open wing shot. They invariably nectar with their wings closed. The best opportunities seem to be on days with hazy sunshine and thin high cloud. This however seems to be the typical non-aberrant male Orange Tip.
