My Job

Some parts of my job look like this to people who are not familiar with IT.  

We can have a group of people looking at a screen, which to the uninitiated looks something like this Blip, and they will be saying things like "Oooh look at that" and pointing at something somewhere on the screen but, crucially, not saying what is interesting or why it is interesting.

People who do this deserve a SLAP.

If you're trying to solve a problem, it helps if you know exactly what the problem is, where it occurred and what caused it.  Having some hairy arsed programmer sitting next to you not-helping-by-never-explaining should invoke some kind of karmic skelp*.

Some people really need to relearn the meaning of the word Help.  They might even find it interesting.
