Creating a `green’ screen

I’m working towards hiding our neighbours fence without erecting a new one.  The trouble is that things that grow take so much longer to screen out eyesores than do fences!

I’ve re-planted the Joseph Rock Sorbus this morning.  It’s got a bit bonsai’d as previously it was growing in a wooden box, which restricted it’s root run.  It’s not a large tree anyway, but it does have lovely autumn colour and yellow berries.

The light was stunning as we set off to walk to the chapel where today’s local council elections are in progress.  Who do you vote for?  Our conservative candidate has generally done a good job locally, but does a vote for a conservative send a message to the PM that we think the Tories are doing a good job and not sacrificing the country to their own anarchic desires.  The Labour party flyer was amateur and awful and I don’t know the man from Adam, though I suppose producing a flyer is better than the Lib Dem candidate and the Yorkshire candidate were able to do.  They didn’t send any information, nor do they have anything about themselves on their respective party websites.  What a sad state of affairs.  And then we have the European elections coming in three weeks time!
