Abbott's Swing bridge

This is Abbott's Swing Bridge in Queen Elizabeth Park, Masterton, New Zealand. Originally built in 1939, the swing bridge hovers over the Waipoua River. It is 90.5 meters long and a meter wide at the deck level. The swing bridge is made of two reinforced concrete towers, steel cables and tie rods, and timber deck, handrail and some fittings. I used to travel over this bridge twice a day from 1992 - 1995.
