Life in Sunny Dubai

It's that time again. The flame trees are beginning to flower as seen on the tree opposite G's window. Dubai is going to look amazing.

So today, the bedroom air conditioners got serviced. They are a different brand and generally require more care throughout the year. Ideally, they should both be replaced with more efficient units but it is so much hassle, it's easier to just keep fixing them. Their unique design is what keeps them.

It took the team 90 minutes to do both units and they left quite a mess behind. I'm so glad I had purposely scheduled the work to be done just before the cleaner arrived. I think Nara was miffed at how much cleaning he had to do after they left. It took him well over two hours to get the flat looking normal again.

The rest of the day has been quiet. I am working on a broad outline for a potential business whilst trying to write a blog post for the website. I sneaked in scanning some old photographs in between various jobs.

G came home saying Ramadan has been declared tomorrow, so she will have shorter periods (35 minutes long instead of 55). She managed to catch two Sean Connery James Bond films in the afternoon and enjoyed watching them, commenting periodically of how great she and her brothers thought these films were when they first came out! Unfortunately, she missed the end of the second movie because of her Skype lesson!
