Hat

The Santa hat has returned for another year. He wore it for days on end last Christmastime - even to bed.

It was the last day of term and a casual-dress day. Their teacher is really lovely and gave them some little presents. He came off the bus with his wee face covered in chocolate, laden down with gifts and the Santa hat all askew. It looked like a good day at school.


It amuses me that he's always very aware of his clothing but only in the sense that he doesn't want to draw attention to himself. "Please don't make me wear clothes with writing!"
Santa hats and reindeer jumpers are obviously not included in his definition of unobtrusive.
