Ceanothus

It's ceanothus time. Last year we did a bit of pruning to help it keep a good shape, and it's looking lovely this year. Not that that's difficult for a ceanothus in May. While it lasts it's hard not to keep looking at it. However, this year there seem to be very few bees around. Normally there are lots of them busy working over the ceanothus flowers all day, but perhaps the cold weather has grounded them.
