Hawthorn Blossom

I love the new hawthorn blossom round at the moment. Starting off as little white blobs like polystyrene balls and exploding into these beautiful flowers. This was taken in semi gloom in the woods this morning.

The day evolved into a lot of driving….

Mrs madwill’s mother has had some ‘issues’ lately (we basically think she is depressed and not coping well). So Mrs madwill’s sister has agreed to take her back to her home in Bedford for a little while to try and get to the bottom of it.

So today, we went up to Darlington to collect MIL (lots of heavy showers made for an ‘interesting’ drive) and then we brought her south whilst Mrs madwill’s sister headed north and we arranged to rendezvous at a pub near J32 on the M62. We all finished stuck in the same traffic jam - heading from the A1 at Ferrybridge to J32. It seems the whole world was heading to the shops/restaurants/cinemas there. It took us 45 minutes to travel just over a mile. Over two hours door to door. We were late for our table booking and (rightly) the restaurant had given the table away - so we had to wait 20 minutes for another.

We eventually got home around 3:30 pm - ready for my nap!
