Here we go again!

Tuileries

I liked this jumble of chairs, in contrast to the manicured French gardens next to them.

Our outing today was to the Orangerie. There was a great exhibition on of Franz Marc and Auguste Macke. I hadn't understood before how much they were influenced by Robert and Sonia Delaunay (or was the exhibition merely playing up the French connection?). We also enjoyed the permanent collection (Jean Walter - Paul Guillaume). It was fun to see the model of Guillaume's dining room, with walls covered in still lifes by Cézanne and with Soutine's Petit patissier. And of course Monet's waterlilies are stunning.

We got a bite to eat in the Tuileries afterwards, next to a pond, where we had a good spot to view the enormous ducks and some birds that had red beaks and chicken feet (possibly purple swamphens, based on a quick internet search?). Ch was no fan of them!

Got back to a flurry of emails, an apartment showing we had to vacate for, and another tasty dinner courtesy of Monsieur Picard!
