Dog End of Christmas Shopping

Matt and I had 2 hours to start finish the Christmas pressie buying this afternoon before meeting the rest of the Fam to see the Hobbit.

No pressure, just pressies for mums, sister and wife.... and no ideas at all. Two hours clearly being plenty of time, we checked out stuff in gear shops to see what we wished Santa was bringing us, then decided we both could do with some new shoes, so wandered off to the mens shoe stores, then looked at a few ski jackets, because they are always nice to look at, then a quick look through a CD shop and a few DVDs to see what we might fancy in the sales.
By now we were ready for a coffee, but noticing that we now had only 30mins and having received the text that they'd arrived in town we realised that our lateral approach to pressie shopping hadn't inspired us with any ideas for these difficult women in our lives, fear overtook us, the consequences of failing in our mission were unthinkable.
Suddenly we were on fire, inspired pressie buying, we even squeezed a bit of extra value out the retailers. Mission Impossible became Mission Accomplished. We can't wait to see them open their gifts now...

BTW loved the Hobbit - I've read all 3 of the kids the Hobbit and the telling of the story is such a happy memory for me and for them, they recalled details of where they were, and my attempts of accents and voices (no match however for my legendary BFG)
