First rose

A lonely first rose hiding amongst the clematis Montana. It is on a sunny wall so maybe that is why it is so advanced.
We are on our own again, our guests having set off on their long journey home to Somerset. It has been good to have them here to join in with our birthday celebrations. Now we will slip back into our rut!
