Wallpaper

On the "Unseen Spaces" tour at the National Trust's Polesden Lacey, most of the decor is very shabby, but in places this beautiful wallpaper survives. Climbing up and down stairs backstage in our local visitor attraction, we visited servants quarters alongside the grander bedrooms that have yet to be restored. For many years the house was the headquarters of the National Trust in the south-east so the bedrooms were turned into offices. Now the task facing the Trust is to restore the once magnificent bedrooms, at one time slept in by royalty. The extra shows a magnificent marble bathroom.

We have had plenty of rain today, very welcome in the garden, but not appreciated by Normous who was playing golf and got very wet. Luckily I escaped the rain on my Polesden visit.
