...after another night of torrential rain, which hasn't let up all day, we were a bit anxious about my brother and sister-in-law driving down today. Our concern was heightened when other members of the family returned empty handed from a trip to the nearest shop, this morning, having been unable to get through the floods.

After lunch, we went for a walk on the beach in the rain. This shot was taken very close to where I captured yesterday's image, but the tide was much higher today. At the rate things are going, this could turn into a week's series of Horton Beach!

Mid-afternoon, we got a call from my brother to say that they were only a few miles away but were unable to progress any further because the only road to Port-Eynon and Horton was unpassable. Fortunately, I have a Land Rover and we were able to go and collect them, but it was on the very edge of even my car's ability. Hopefully, we will be able to recover their car later in the week...
