Snap!

After work, I went with my daughter for a walk down by the ponds to look for turtles and frogs as I have not seen any yet. What a pleasant surprise to see this beauty instead!  As it was positioned in a sandy spot near the pond, I assumed that it was about to lay eggs.  Not an ideal location for it to and I was all prepared to wait for the entire process to finish so that I could cover the eggs to deter predators, when it decided to turn around and go back into the water.  Maybe it was a male out for a stroll. I wasn't about to lift its tail to find out  : )
