Backblip 5
(Changed extra for yesterday as I realised I'd put up one for 2 days later)
Rained most of the night, though not hard, and got up to a grey, drizzly day.
We'd already decided to have a fairly quiet day and first port of call was Windermere Jetty Museum. (It used to be the Steamboat Museum but was re-named after a re-build after being damaged in the floods).
There is z long history of different sorts of boating on the lake and it is well represented, this being the section on speed record attempts.
We paid extra to have a 45min trip on the steamboat "Osprey" (the rain had stopped by now) and had tea and scone/cake in the cafe.
Lunch was pies bought in the farmers' market and then we had a wander round the grounds of Rydal Hall where there are waterfalls, bluebell woods and some more formal areas, well worth a visit (and free).
Wandered down to the pub after we'd cooked for ourselves.
