Docked just at lunchtime today and took a trip up the cable car to the top of the rock - wonderful views but very windy. Got off halfway down to rejoin our minibus and saw several of the famous ‘apes’ who were in playful mood. Next stop was to the Great siege tunnels which were completed in 1783 following the longest siege in British military history of more than 3 years 8 months. They were extended in WWII.
The blip is through one of the gun emplacements looking over the runway into Spain. I think if you look closely you can see the border crossing.

Wandered through the Main Street for an hour or so - rather too many watch shops and tourist stuff for my liking but it was a gorgeous sunny day. Even popped into good old M&S!

Interesting history and love the fact they are reclaiming land to provide for the ever increasing population.
27 miles of road with a further 35 in the rock itself dug out during the war.

Back onboard and about to try the only restaurant we haven’t been to yet for dinner.

Happy Thursday blippers.
