Therapy

The last day at the Seattle conference for me (Annie). It's been a really good few days for technical content, but exhausting - the jetlag, concentration, and being here alone adds up over time.

So I was more than delighted to find in one of the conference zones a section with Therapy dogs in it. These wonderful dogs are trained to help people - from visiting the sick and elderly in hospital, to comforting children in times of stress, and even helping people with PTSD. These dogs are picked because they love meeting new people, and exude their love to anyone they meet. Being at the conference was partly training for them, and partly community outreach for the charity. It was a wonderful oasis of calm in an otherwise quite draining environment.

Back home, it was a long and soggy day for Chris poor thing, with work in Bradford and train journeys to and from at either end of the day. And no dogs to cuddle - terrible!
