Parliament

Our church has an informal 'Daytrippers' group who travel by bus to places of interest about once a month during the period of April to October. Today our travels took us to Edinburgh, specifically to the Scottish Parliament building at Holyrood (pictured).

It was an early start as we had arranged to catch the 9am bus from Glasgow to Edinburgh. We had booked a tour of the Parliament building at 11am and tickets in the public gallery for First Minister's Questions at noon.

Both were very interesting, although I would suggest the former was probably more informative. FMQs, like its Westminster equivalent, is a bit of a set-piece occasion more like a theatrical performance than proper political debate.

As the café at Holyrood was rather busy afterwards, we took a bus back into the city centre and had lunch there before catching the bus back to Glasgow and then another home.

Have bus-pass will travel, indeed.
