Somerset Day

Street, in common with other towns and villages across the County, was celebrating the annual Somerset Day, a tradition that goes back all of three years, with various entertainments in front of the, now closed, library.

Here are the Chalice Morris Men keeping the old tradition alive. This particular dance was called Postman's Knock and combined energetic dancing and banging of poles with some lusty singing.

Earlier we'd done the park run (both recording more PBs - by over 40 seconds for Tess) then cycled straight to the outdoor pool for a warm down swim.

This afternoon Kate brought Sophie over for a sleepover as she's attending a Eurovision party at a friend's house tonight. It wasn't until Thursday that they discovered they'd got the date wrong and it's not on until next Saturday but they thought they'd go ahead anyway. Personally, I reckon the party will be better without the Contest.
