Barn Swallow Poseing

The Barn Swallows swoop and dive with abandon around our motel. Not so easy to get a good shot of them while they're airborne. This little beauty landed for a moment on a post and I just happened to have my camera in hand as I was going into our room. I love it's colors! Though we've done a bit of 'searching' for a glimpse of the famous Assateague Ponies, we have had no luck spotting any. (although we'll go out one last time this evening) This one was with three pony friends in a fenced area across the street from our hotel. People can feed them corn feed and so they're Very Friendly. Tonight we do wash ;) and tomorrow we cross the Delmarva Peninsula heading to Crisfield, MD for our Road Scholar adventure. I'm a little sad to be saying goodbye to Chincoteague and it's surroundings. I'd love to visit again, but with our kayak next time!
13 more days in the 'Bringing Fletcher Home' Countdown! Woof! :)
***update...We did see the Wild Ponies late this afternoon, after I blipped this. I'll post some shots of them tomorrow as *extras. :)
