Homeward Bound.

The Swan family were out on the water again today and getting lots of attention from admirers. I had only planned to stay for a few minutes then walk on to Clennon Valley Park in nearby Paignton where apparently they have a pair of egrets, but got talking to various people who like myself have been watching and waiting for the eggs to hatch and two hours later I was still there lol. Just before I left mum decided they'd spent enough time on the water and headed for her nest. Mum and dad got out of the water, and the babies panicked for a bit, then one discovered the boulder I put at the edge yesterday (somebody had added another small block on top) and managed to get out quickly followed by the other two, and they followed mum up to the nest. Although Mrs Swan is still returning to the nest and moves the four remaining eggs around before sitting on them we don't think any more will hatch because of the length of time she is spending off the nest.
The six baby ducklings are still doing well and spending more time away from mum nut still as a group and return to mum if feeling threatened. Not sure why but Mrs Swan seems to have taken a disliking to them and chases after them.
I'm almost caught up with the editing and will hopefully have them uploaded to my blog either tomorrow or Monday, be ready for cute mega overload, lol.
