Here there and everywhere

Poster Pillar

I have a liking for those poster pillars as they mark the time and place, so here's my Munich one!

More wanderings today and an attempt to get into the synagogue only to find that guided group tours are arranged 10 days in advance and only with the Jewish community, not through the museum and bookshop.

Bb took me to show me the area round Gartner Square, which he'd discovered last time, and what a lovely area it was - reminiscent of Marylebone in London and some parts of New York. We oowed and awed at the interesting architecture, little shops and just enjoyed people going about their daily lives and we had had a Weiss beer overlooking the square.

Surprisingly for us, we had booked a table for dinner at a bustling, informal, atmospheric restaurant, which Bb had stumbled across last time. When we arrived though we realised it specialised in burgers (the name New York should have given it away)! When in Rome and all that..... We made our excuses and left and tried to get into a few other places, all packed and just 7pm and still light outside! Unsurprisingly for us, we ate in the same place as last night and enjoyed it again - good Bavarian fayre and very good value too! Early night for us, with lights out at 10pm!
