A party

Our family celebration went really well today.  It was warm enough to barbecue outside and to enjoy the sunshine before moving indoors for dinner.  There was a lot of picture-taking done, and here you see Sarah, Nick and Charlie having their photo taken by Andrew.  There was also a new bean toss game the young folks played; in the Extra you can see Manda teaming with her artist cousin Josh.  He is the same age as Sarah and they grew up together.

Dinner was lovely and I got birthday cards and a bunch of tulips from Manda.  She'd baked an enormous chocolate cookie dough cake. If we'd had a candle for all the birthdays - Lex's, mine, Sarah and Josh's - we' have needed 202.  All the leftover goodies went home with Manda, who will bring them to work with her tomorrow for her colleagues to enjoy.

An altogether lovely day.  I hope yours was as good.
