Where the Light Gets In

We left Cyrille and Bénédicte's flat around midday - the appointment at the restaurant with friends was at 1. We waited for the bus that was supposed to take us on the first leg of our journey to Paris for close to half an hour, which means we were late by half an hour. Still, apparently, our friends (Xavier, Damien and their girlfriends Christina and Loréna) were not there so much earlier than us, because they had not ordered their food yet. Or maybe they're extremely polite! We had only about five minutes to walk from the métro to the restaurant, but we did it under pouring rain, the likes of which we hadn't seen in a long while, probably since May 2010 when we visited Dublin and found ourselves right under such a deluge. Of course the rain stopped about five minutes after we'd arrived to the restaurant.

Luckily, the weather stayed after that and we were able to go for a wander after lunch; Damien and Loréna had to go visit Damien's mother who is in hospital at the moment so they left early. Xavier, Christina and the two of us chose to go sit outside a café and talk some more.

In the evening we had a nice dinner with Cyrille and Bénédicte. Cyrille had found his suit for Bénédicte's brother's wedding, which will take place in two weeks. He doesn't like shopping at all, so he was happy he was rid of that!

I'm slowly getting used to the idea of surgery. It will all be for the better, I know.
