Don't Eat Me!

I gave Ollie a doggy facewash and a brush-up and took her to John Lewis in Welwyn for the first time. She was perfectly behaved and a hit with the partners. They said that she's the biggest dog that has been brought into the store.

We called in at the Tewinbury hide on the way home but there wasn't much doing.

I shot this cinnabar moth this evening. They usually rest with their wings closed but this one showed off its beautiful red underwings. The name comes from the scarlet form of mercury. The larvae eat ragwort and both they and the adults contain toxins from the plant. Their colouring warns predators of this.
