Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

By NannaK

Fiona Tuesday!

And Book Club for me.  I read my Dad’s 1917 Harvard Classics copy of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice. (with very small print!) —it was a fun t reread and good talking…  am also reading “the Jane Austen Project” by Kathleen Flynn a novel about future time travel back to 1815 to try to steal her unpublished work “The Watsons”  which is also very fun!   I recommend it.

H picked up Fiona, had some plans,  but they ended up just coming home to finish drawing her family from Mars in the sketchbook.   By the time I got home, after 3+ hours of talk, Fiona  was really into her families and their stories —we made an envelope for the Mars family of 8 (the green thing) and then  she started right in on another. in  a new sketchbook.    Something (!) made me remember making a family drawing  (this one also had all the rooms in the house drawn and colored too) which I amazingly found…I thought she'd think it silly, but she loved it so here you have our two versions, hers is unfinished, no pets yet……one is ancient..I’d say maybe 1950?  I won’t try to write all the stories that go with them—never ending, ..she worked on these , with time out for pizza, the whole time, with explanations, where the names came from, why most of the eyes are brown, what the twins were doing, and many descriptions  (but not why on earth so many kids)   whew!     We are leaving in the morning for the island…I’m very much in need of some quiet and a good sleep right now.  H is taking her home…the car is all but packed…now just pack up the computer….
