No, they're not hairy caterpillars

As my blipping friends will have spotted I have been busy back blipping to clear some space on my camera before the weekend, sorry but I haven't had time recently to publish my blips daily. On my morning walk with Jimmy today I saw what appeared to be lots of fluffy cotton on the grass and looked up to see these furry pods which were busy shedding their cotton seeds on the breeze. No idea what the tree is but sure someone out there will enlighten me.
