Fish and Fowl

Today we walked from Thorpeness to Aldeburgh - I did the short route and then met up with Mr PB who did a longer route. It was quite breezy, so the shingle where there are usually plenty of small birds, was very quiet, although there were plenty of the many plant species to be seen. I crossed over the road and went into the scrubby verge where it was more sheltered and there were many more birds. I visited a couple of hides where there were quite a few waders to be seen - like this Redshank, and there were some fine views of a Marsh Harrier. After a very nice lunch and a wander around the shops, including a visit to the fish shacks for some seafood goodies, we set off back - battling a cold northerly wind which had got even stronger and was now in our faces. We were glad to get back to the car.
I'm putting a photo of the beautiful Aldeburgh Moot Hall in extras. It is usually surrounded by visitors and vehicles, but today it was relatively quiet.
