Pictorial blethers

Normal pursuits ...

After the surreal experience of yesterday, we were back to the brief walk before dinnertime, resulting in this shot of the sun's rays showing round a cloud over the Ardyne shore and, beyond, the island of Bute. Last night I felt I'd never walk again - we did over 14 miles yesterday - but by the time I'd washed and hung out sheets and remade the bed and made bread and then sat down for a bit, I realised that the stiffness really only set in when I'd been sitting. Hence the need for more exercise ...

It felt strange, however, to be back here and making comparisons. Arran, and in particular Brodick and Glen Rosa and the surrounding mountains are as familiar to me as anywhere on earth. I spent two months there every summer till I was 14, and after that a month a year till I married. Later, we went back as a couple for several years, and even later spent a holiday there with family. It's my favourite place to be, even if I don't think I could live there, and I never want to leave even after a day.

I'll just need to go back again ...
