First Training Session

Kiri has been in her new home for about 24 hours and so far she has:

- said goodbye to her breeder, mum and sister, whom she has lived with always.
- met 3 new dogs, which she is supposed to share her home with.
- met a new trainer, who has different rules and routines from what she is used to.
- been for 3 walks.
- been to visit Helle.
- met a couple of other new dogs.
- experienced life in a training hall and seen other dogs train to music/noises.
- had her first training session.
- jumped out of her puppy pen.
- had a roof put on her puppy pen ;-)
- searched for treats in the grass several times.

No wonder she is absolutely exhausted now!

I think we are all pretty tired - having a new dog in the house means new routines, which takes energy from everyone. The boys have been good as gold though. They have taken everything so well.

Today we met with Helle to train dogs and have crates fitted into my car, so all 4 dogs and be in the back of my car and I still have room for my props and training gear. We have been for a couple of walks and Gollum had a massage treatment as his body has seemed tense recently. A dog with tense, sore muscles doesn't work well.

This picture is from Kiri's first training session. We started om 4 different exercises:
Nose Target on my hand (put nose on my hand and keep it there) - as in the picture.
Foot target (go to target and stand on it with front legs and stay).
Canine Elephant (put front feet on target and move around it with hind legs). You can see her practise the move here: https://www.instagram.com/p/BxkfKAZnXew/?igshid=1liu2h14pai0y
Sit stay.
And then we practised playing and keeping focused on toy/tuggying.
It was a good session and it was nice to work with her.

See you tomorrow
Emmy and the Hazyland Boys (oh and Kiri of course)
