Wound up in Wexford

Waiting for the show

Yesterday, a post popped up on my Facebook page about a show, with Adele Anderson (from Fascinating Aida) and Paige Jennifer Barr.  It sounded good, so I suggested a day trip to London.  Bought the tickets, bought day return train tickets, and we were duly on the 10am train out of Norwich.

Everything ran very smoothly, for a change.  We got to the venue in plenty of time, had a bite to eat and a drink sitting outside - the pub itself was wonderfully quirky, but rather noisy due to hosting "Boozy Brunch"

The venue was the little back room - called The Ballroom.  There was seating for just 30-40 people.  The two performers were excellent.  Paige's monologue about the death of her husband was moving as well as funny.  Adele's show was called Gloomy Sunday (first performed in Edinburgh last year), her songs were as good value as we expected.

We had intended treat ourselves to a meal in London, but having had more lunch than we planned, we weren't really hungry when the show finished, so instead we caught an earlier train home to Norwich, and treated ourselves to a meal on Riverside.

All in all, a nice relaxing day out.  Now re-energised, ready to spend the day in the garden tomorrow - here's hoping it doesn't rain.
