Simonsides

First coat of emulsion on one of the living-room walls. Duck-egg blue.

Late afternoon, a walk in Holystone Woods. Above an area of Forestry Commission plantation is a magical natural woodland - oaks, rowans, silver birch, cherry trees, holly... full of birdsong. And lots of wild flowers, absolutely beautiful, especially at this time of year. Some good views of the Simonside Hills from the track.

Then on to the Redesdale Arms for a meal. Lovely end to the weekend.
