Archaeology East

I went to a talk this evening about the discoveries made by archaeologists during an excavation just up the road from my house in Linton earlier this year.

Apparently, as well as other more recent treasures, there were significantly large numbers of mesolithic microliths found there.  These tiny pieces of flint were tools made by hunter-gatherer humans at the end of the Stone Age,  and so make this site in Linton remarkable.  (Though not remarkable enough to stop builders building houses on it eventually).

Fascinating stuff, thank you Oxford Archaeology.
