This is Manchester

Two years ago today twenty two lives were lost in the Arena bombing. At two o’ clock this afternoon there was a minute silence across the city to remember them. We were working in Middleton Arena and we all stopped...there wasn’t a sound. Usually timers are beeping and agitators click and beep as donations finish, but during that one minute nothing made a sound.

A sad day, but also one that unified a city. There is a great sense of belonging, the bee symbol has become huge and is seen all over the city. Most days I see the bee tattoo on donors arms. We are proud of our city and we will always remember those we lost.
