White-legged Damselfly

I’ve seen these before in Panshanger Park but it was the first time I’d seen one in my garden. Because it’s very pale in colour with a lot of white I think this one is female but I’m not sure.

They lay their eggs on aquatic plants but as this one was far from the pond, I assume she was eating rather than laying. They generally catch smaller insects to eat on the wing.

At Scouts tonight we fried camp doughnuts over open fires.These are battered and fried jam sandwiches, sprinkled liberally with sugar. Calorie loaded!
