Springbank Distillery, Still Room with Spirit Safe

13C with sunny sunshine all day. Moderate WNW/W breeze.

Fergus and I went for our walk after lunch. We went round to the harbour and along Hall Street and the shore side of the park and Kilkerran road. We turned at Glenramskill house and came back the same way then along the street side of the park and came home through town passing the town hall and the bookshop (open).

Town is busy at the moment. The Campbeltown Malts festival is on with Springbank distillery having an open day today, and Glengyle tomorrow.

On the Clip while walking:
Podcast of BBC radio 4's Word of Mouth, with the excellent Michael Rosen in the chair:
Romani. Damian Le Bas talked to Michael Rosen about the Romani language and his experience with using it. Damian is the author of The Stopping Places: A Journey Through Gypsy Britain.

Podcast of BBC Radio 3's Arts and Ideas:
Rivers, different cultures, different values. Shahidha Bari invited Veronica Strang, John Clarke, Susan Greaney, and Charles Rangeley-Wilson to debate the best way forward for our rivers reflecting on their past and present

Afternoon music ... BBC Radio Scotland.

Apothecary7 was working 7am to 3.30pm today (don't ask!) so when she came home we went to vote then got some plants and seeds in the little garden shop and then stopped off on the way home at the open day at Springbank. It was mobbed. Whisky sales will be astronomic and the visitors well pickled. Instead of taking a picture of the distillery from our house top floor rear window, before we came away I took a photo of our house from the distillery (but you don't get to see that because there aren't endless extras).

Now, where is that bottle of Springbank 10 year old ...

DC-TZ90  f/4.6 1/250 sec. ISO-80 13mm (35mm focal length 80mm)

Extras:
Barrels and more barrels at Springbank.
