A perfect walking day

We headed towards Wooler then into the hills for a short 6 mile) walk into the moorland. We had wonderful views down to the coast in the far distance on the way back.

We saw lapwings, larks and curlews and heard cuckoos. We also saw a stoat scampering in and out of holes along by a burn we had to cross.

It was all happening while we were out. The Downing Street cat has been left in charge of the country and it couldn’t make any more of a mess than the current lot.
