Rain for a change

Today began with single drops of rain and became gradually wetter until we had real rain in the afternoon. The most rain we've had in weeks, months almost. Certainly the first rain in ages to wet the ground properly. Unfortunately it coincided with a Professional Gardeners' Guild garden visit day to Stonefield Castle and Ormsary. Fourteen members turned out, mostly from Scotland, but our Chairman came up from Cambridge and a good, if damp day was had by all.

At Ormsary I noticed a rather strange sign directed visitors to the back or front of the house, which seemed rather obvious, but our Chairman, Tony (back) suggested that I photograph him and Andrew standing behind the sign. I thought it worked rather well!
