Wasted and wounded . . . . .

I thought of the first line of Rod Stewart's 'Tom Traubert's Blues' when I saw this podophyllum after first being browned by frost and then battered by the wind! Fortunately the flowers get some protection by being hidden under the leaves, so here's a close-up of them. They should be followed by large red fruits - maybe a Blip for a later date!

No walk today - I spent the afternoon in the garden, attempting to dig montbretia out of my new beds. One of the problems of bringing soil in, tho I can't really complain as I was given quite a few loads for nothing!

Quote of the Day:

Tom Waits, 'Tom Traubert's Blues' - "Wasted and wounded, And it ain't what the moon did, I got what I paid for now  . . ."
