Holiday day 2: Mallaig to Lochboisdale

On a cold, wet day in Mallaig we have browsed a secondhand bookshop, visited a heritage museum (twice), been swimming, inspected the Jacobite steam train with Harry Potter carriage shop, roosted in the mission café, and waited for a ferry to South Uist (indoors and out). My blip shows the Soviet-style mural that depicts the fishing industry in Mallaig. It's found on the side of one of the old herring houses in the harbour (today with bonus seagulls).

We played two games of Scrabble on the ferry, neither of which was particularly satisfying. I think that we are both out of practice. We'll see what can be done about this over our time away.

The weather might be awful, but we are happy to be on holiday. We are especially grateful that we are staying in a big, warm hotel room in Lochboisdale tonight - unlike other cyclists on the boat who are braving the elements under canvas.

Exercise today: swimming (50 lengths); walking (10,792 steps).
